PLAN OF SALVATION - JUST FOR KIDZ
The Bible, God's Word, is our guideline to understand how to invite Jesus Christ to come into our hearts, forgive us of our sins, help us in this life and take us to heaven when we die. Some of the Bible verses to read and think about are the following:
I John 4:10 - God sent Jesus to show His great love for us even though we have sinned.
Romans 3:23 - Everyone sins, and no one is perfect like God.
Romans 6:23 - Just as we earn a punishment when we do wrong things at home or school, God must punish our disobedience to Him, our sin. The Bible says this punishment is death, which means being separated from God forever. This breaks God's heart because He loves us so much, and this was not part of His original plan for people. God sent Jesus to take our punishment so that we can be forgiven of our disobedience and sin and enjoy life with Him forever.
John 3:16 - Jesus' death on the cross takes away our punishment for sin if we believe He is God's son who came to die in our place and rose again from the dead.
I John 1:9 - We must ask God to forgive us of our sin and commit to be His follower all of our life if we want to hve everlasting life. God promises to forgive us and make us pure in His sight. With our sins forgiven, we have the promise of living with God forever in heaven.
God loves you and has a great plan for you. Read Psalm 139:13 - 16. God made the world, God made people, God made you. God wants to have a relationship with people, and God wants to have a relationship with you.
The Bible tells us that everyone has sinned and come short of the glory of God. Read Romans 3:23.
Even though we choose to sin, God still loves us and offers to forgive us. Read Romans 5:8. God sent his only Son, Jesus Christ, to die on the Cross and suffer the punishment of all of our sins.
Jesus died for us. Read John 3:16. God sent His only Son Jesus. He died willingly for our sins so we could be with God forever. That is how much He love us. Even though Jesus died on the Cross, He arose on the 3rd day to go back to His Heavenly Father in Heaven.
You become a Christian by confessing Jesus as you Savior and Lord. Read Romans 10:9. When we confess our sins to God that means that we are agreeing with God that we have done things wrong. Read I John 1:9.
These previous statements provide the background for this next important step. Even though we know this information in our heads, we must pray or talk to God and tell Him that we accept all of these Biblical principles and want to love Him forever.
If you desire to be saved, cry out to God in faith to be forgiven. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation . . . For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:9, 10, 13)
Get on your knees, bow your head and close your eyes and pray to God and include these simple, but important, points.
1) Admit that you are a sinner.
2) Believe that Jesus is God's son who came to earth to make a way for us to be forgiven of our sin.
3) Confess that you want to receive this forgiveness and commit your life to becoming a follower of Jesus.
